ASHLAND 8-8
Ashland went 1-1 this week with a 10-0 win over Lewis County and a 4-2 loss to Boyd.
Jenna and Grace Delaney each had a pair of hits in the loss to Boyd. Jenna drove in a run.
Grace Delaney went 3 for 4 in the win over Lewis. Jenna Delaney, Aubrey Foster and Addi Layne had two hits each. Laine drove in four.
Ashland visits Boyd Tuesday, welcomes Johnson Central Thursday and plays Pike County Central and Magoffin County Saturday.
BOYD COUNTY 13-11
Boyd went 3-2 this week with wins over Ashland, Nicholas County and Fleming County and losses to Greenup, 9-8 and Montgomery County, 8-6 in eight innings.
Boyd knocked off Ashland, 4-2. Elyn Simpkins went the distance while allowing only one earned run and striking out four. Grace Stephens went 2 for 3 with an RBI double. Jadyn Goad added a double.
Lacyn Black and Simpkins turned in three hit performances in the 12-5 win over Nicholas County. Simpkins drove in three with a triple. Black doubled. Jadyn Goad, Savanna Henderson, Kyli Kouns, Grace Stephens and Elise Sparks had a pair of hits.
Black tossed a two hitter in a 12-1 win over Fleming. Maddison Badgett and Kouns each had three hits. Kouns tripled. Black drove in three with a home run. Jaycie Goad added a triple.
Boyd welcomes Fairview Monday, Ashland Tuesday and visits Lincoln County, WV Thursday.
FAIRVIEW 12-5
Fairview went 5-1 this week with wins over Huntington St. Joe, Tolsia, WV, Cross Lanes Christian and a sweep of a twin-bill with Hannan, WV. and a 5-1 loss to West Carter.
Annabelle Menshouse struck out 10 in a 17-7 win over St. Joe. Marista Tackett went 4 for 5 with a double and 2RBI. Kailyn Adkins, Madison Loving, Olivia Meade and Menshouse each had three hits. Adkins had a pair of doubles. All three of Meade’s hits were two baggers.
Menshouse fanned 11 in the 9-8 win over Cross Lanes Christian. She led the Eagles at the plate with a 3 for 4 night, a triple and 3RBI. Lilly McGlone and Zoe Grant went 2 for 4. Adkins added a double.
Menshouse tossed a no-hitter and struck out seven in the 17-1, four inning win over Hannan. She went 4 for 4 with 6RBI.
Fairview visits Boyd Monday, welcomes Elliott County Tuesday, New Boston Wednesday and Phelps Saturday.
63rd DISTRICT
RACELAND 19-3
Raceland went 2-0 this week with run-rule wins over Huntington and Russell.
Raceland hammered Huntington, 15-1 in five. Davanna Grubb went 3 for 3 with a double and 3RBI. Reagan Mackie drove in three and Lilly Poplin drove in two. Raceland tallied seven doubles in the win.
Raceland dumped Russell, 20-3 in six after rolling off 17 straight runs to snap a 3-3 tie. Grubb led the Rams with three hits, two doubles and drove in five. Kali Vance went 3 for 4 with a homer and 4RBI. Bryan Wellman and Shelby Gauze tripled.
Raceland visits Chesapeake Thursday and meets Somerset in the opening round of the All “A” State Tournament on Saturday.
RUSSELL 14-4
Russell went 1-1 this week with a 7-6 win over Greenup and a 20-3 loss to Raceland.
Russell erased a 6-0 deficit as Bella Hall went 3 for 4 with a double and RBI. Gabby Oborne, Paige Hutchinson and Lili Smith added two hits each. Hutchinson tripled.
No stats were reported in the loss to Raceland.
Russell visits Bath County Monday, Greenup County Thursday and plays Ironton and South Webster Saturday.
GREENUP COUNTY 13-4
Greenup went 2-1 this week with wins over Boyd County and Fleming County (11-7) and a loss to Russell.
Greenup gave up a 6-0 lead and fell 7-6 to Russell. Skyler Lawrence went 2 for 2 with a triple and 2RBI. Addison Branim doubled and drove in three.
Lawrence led Greenup in a 9-8 win over Boyd with a 2 for 4 night at the dish. She drove in two. Maddy Steele doubled and drove home a run.
Greenup welcomes Lewis County Tuesday and Russell Thursday.
