Russell’s beloved Railroad Days is just days away. It kicks off on Friday, June 24 with an impressive lineup. At 4 p.m. you can enjoy some good ole bluegrass music by Ned Crisp & the Bottomline Band. Then stick around for some cool country by the talented Terry Hall. But the fun doesn’t stop there! At 7 p.m., the headliner acts take the stage. Here you can enjoy another great bluegrass act by Hammertowne followed by Josh Brown & the Hard Livin Legends bringing you some country jams.
Saturday’s line up kicks off a bit earlier, beginning at noon and running until about 5 p.m. During this time, you will experience music from Casey Hensley, Johnathan Cox, The Sugarbeats, Clifton Ross, Larry Pancake, and Shelby Lore. This is all leading up to the Railroad Days major headliners. Emmy Davis and band take the stage at 7 p.m. followed by the incredibly talented Holly Forbes.
Throughout the weekend you can also enjoy various food and craft vendors that have so much variety to offer. There is even something for the kiddos. On both Friday and Saturday, children can check out the kids circus and family area. They will have inflatables set up for the children to play on, face painting will be offered, and they can have the opportunity to witness the jugglers, stilt walkers and the “80-foot Death Wheel.” You will have three opportunities on Friday evening to catch these thrilling acts and then three more opportunities on Saturday. “You don’t want to miss this! It will be truly spectacular!” stated Kristie Patterson on Revitalize Russell Facebook page.
Patterson added “Get up close with adorable, young and small animals such as chickens, ducks, rabbits, sheep, goats, alpacas, mini cows, mini horses and even mini donkeys.” Honey Hill Farm Petting Zoo will also be bringing their too cute for words animals to Russell Railroad Days on Saturday, June 25 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Who doesn’t love adorable baby animals? You definitely don’t want to miss out on the cutest animals in the area all while getting a true hands-on farm animal experience. It’s a win-win for everyone.
The entertainment doesn’t stop there. Borders Sporting Goods will be at Russell Railroad Days on Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. hosting an Archery Fun Shoot Out. Everyone, no matter your skill level in archery or experience, is encouraged to come check this event out and enjoy this free archery course. Experienced archers are encouraged to bring their traditional and compound bows and arrows with practice tips only. Crossbows are not permitted. If you are a family that loves to shoot together, then this is the event for you. All archers will shoot at targets that will be placed at distances matching that of their skill level. Oh, did I mention that there will be lots of prizes? The biggest prize being gave out will be a PSE Evolve 28.
So, if you are looking for something to this weekend… then look no further because Russell Railroad Days has something for everyone and is sure to bring in people from across the Tri-state.
