Stop by Jeanie’s Flowers and More for Your Holiday Gifts

A bright, new red building went up on Bellefonte Road in Flatwoods recently – the new home of Jeanie’s Flowers and More. Owned by Jeanie Hammond, the flower shop moved to its new location in July. The business moved from its previous site about half a mile away.
“We’re doing great here,” Jeanie said. “A lot of people didn’t know where we were until we moved. We get a lot more foot traffic here.” The business is in a prime location, at 909 Bellefonte Road, across from the Guardian Animal Clinic. They occupied the former location for nine years.
“We are a full-service florist,” she said. “Wreaths are popular at this time of year; we do a lot of center pieces. We will do custom orders to match your décor.”
The shop is beautifully decorated with cheerful holiday-themed items, arranged in vignettes, including decorated Christmas trees, wagons, swags, and much more. “We do fresh arrangements for Christmas, and we have lots of poinsettias,” said Jeanie who has 12 years of experience as a florist.
“We have one of our biggest holidays [for florists] coming up sooner than we think,” she laughed. “Valentine’s Day is big. You don’t have to call ahead, but it’s best, especially if you want special flowers or a custom arrangement.”
“We deliver all over – Greenup, Flatwoods, Raceland, as well as Ashland, Ironton, and Catlettsburg,” she continued. “That’s mostly funeral homes; our biggest customer is funeral work.”
She mentioned that the shop offers a wide variety of remembrance merchandise such as quilts, wind chimes, lanterns, steppingstones, and garden benches.
