The Boyd County Fair is gearing up for one of its biggest celebrations yet, and this year the excitement comes wrapped in red, white, and blue. With America marking its 250th birthday, the fair’s 2026 theme — Stars, Stripes and Summer Nights — promises a week packed with, horsepower, hometown talent, and plenty of family fun.

From June 23–27, with pre‑fair events on June 19 & 20, the Boyd County Fairgrounds at will transform into a mix of motorsports, music, livestock, food, and community spirit.

This year’s schedule leans heavily into crowd favorites, especially for fans of roaring engines and flying dirt. Fairgoers can look forward to four full nights of motorsports, including two nights of motocross, a high‑energy demolition derby, and exciting autocross. With brand‑new bleachers installed at the motorsports arena and a newly poured concrete pad dedicated exclusively to wheelchair and walker‑accessible seating, the fair is making sure everyone can enjoy the action comfortably. We also have parking for those with a handicapped placard or license plate. Fair President, Ellen Keaton, said, “we are excited to bring these upgrades to the motorsports area.  If you need handicap parking or assistance, please let them know when you come through the gate.”

One of the most anticipated events returns with a legacy all its own: King Bros Rodeo, is the oldest operating rodeo in the United States. Their Bulls & Barrels show brings the kind of drama that keeps you on the edge of your seat.  The show is complete with bucking bulls, fast‑turning horses, and of course the rodeo clown keep everyone laughing.

Entertainment is a major highlight this year, offering something for every taste. On Gospel Night you can hear the uplifting message from Michael Combs and the sweet harmonies of The Perry Sisters.   Country Night has local favorites Rob McNurlin and Mike Doolin, perfect for fans of classic country storytelling. Lee Dean kick off the music with a tribute to Elvis in the Expo Building and then as Johnny Cash before the rodeo. Coming back for a second year is the Praise and Worship Expo featuring local praise teams.

Families will find plenty to enjoy beyond the grandstand. Tuesday night brings the adorable and Children’s Pageant, where young contestants light up the stage with smiles and sparkles. This is a “fun” pageant where the only requirement is a cute smile and happy personality.

Wednesday is Pathways Family Carload Night, one of the best deals of the week — everyone in one vehicle gets in for just $25, up to seven people. It’s the perfect night for a large family to enjoy the fair.  Also on Wednesday night is a brand-new event…Roller Derby featuring Chemical Valley Roller Derby in a match they are calling Showdown at the Fairgrounds—Carnies vs Clowns.

Throughout the week, visitors can explore livestock shows, horse shows, and a variety of exhibits showcasing local agriculture, crafts, and community pride.

For the first time, the fair is accepting debit and credit cards at the admission gate — a welcome update for anyone who’s ever arrived with a wallet full of everything except cash.

Whether you’re drawn by the engines, the music, the food, or the chance to celebrate America’s 250th birthday with neighbors and friends, the Boyd County Fair is ready to welcome you with open arms and star‑spangled style.

More details, schedules, and updates can be found at boydcountyfair.net or on the fair’s Facebook page.
