64th DISTRICT

 

ASHLAND 4-7

Ashland went 1-5 at the beach for Spring Break, picking up a win over Batavia, IL with losses to Chesterland, OH, South Laurel, Crescent, SC, Padua Franciscan, OH and North Oldham (13-5).

 

Ashland fell to Chesterland, 9-4. Drew Kelley went 2 for 3 in the loss with a pair of doubles and RBIs. Brady Marushi added a double and Chandler Kisor tripled.

 

Ashland picked up its lone win, 5-3 over Batavia. Marushi went 2 for 3 with a double, triple and 2RBI. Kelley drove in three while earning the win from the bump. He worked 6 2/3 innings, allowing only one earned run while striking out seven. LJ Murphy closed things out for the save.

 

Ashland visits Greenup Tuesday, Raceland Wednesday, welcomes Cabell Midland Thursday and visits Tates Creek Saturday.

 

BOYD COUNTY 7-3

Boyd County went 5-1 at the beach with wins over Portsmouth, 16-0 in four innings, 14-0 over North Laurel, 7-0 over Abbeville, SC, 8-1 over Monticello, VA and 17-7 over Floyd Central in six innings. Boyd fell in their opening game at the beach, 12-1 in six innings to St. Mary’s Ryken, MD.

 

Grant Slater faced 17 batters in the Lions’ win over North Laurel and allowed only one hit and struck out 14.

 

The Lions closed out the trip with a 17-7 over Floyd Central.

Kyle Cordial picked up the win on the mound. Conner Davis and Caleb Gray each had three hits and Gray drove in four.

 

Boyd welcomes Cabell Midland Monday, Rowan County Tuesday, and visits Johnson Central Saturday.

 

FAIRVIEW 4-5

Fairview went 2-2 at the beach with wins over Magoffin County, 11-1 in five innings and Portsmouth, 4-1 and losses to Bethlehem, 12-1 in six innings and Coalfield School, TN, 6-3.

 

Mason Lemaster struck out eight, allowed only three hits and no earned runs in five innings in the win over Magoffin. Izaac Johnson and Jeffery Everetts had two RBIs a piece.

 

Jace Manning picked up the win against Portsmouth striking out 12 while giving up only three hits and no earned runs in seven innings.

 

Fairview collected five hits in the loss to Bethlehem. Tanner Reihs, Manning, Johnson, Eli Cummings and Tevin Smith combined for the Eagles hits. Manning and Johnson doubled.

 

Fairview returns to action Tuesday with a trip to Symmes Valley, Raceland on Thursday and Bath County on Friday.

 

63rd DISTRICT

 

GREENUP COUNTY 6-5

 

Greenup County went 3-2 at the beach for spring break. Greenup claimed wins over DeSales, 7-3, Montini Catholic, IL, 8-2 and Ketchikan, AK, 14-4 in six innings. The Musketeers fell to South Oldham, 8-2 in six innings and Scott County, 13-4.

 

Hunter Holbrook picked up the win on the mound giving up only three hits and three runs in six innings in the Musketeers’ victory over DeSales. Holbrook was also 3-for-3 at the plate with an RBI. Kasey Gammon knocked in two.

 

Greenup welcomes Ashland Tuesday, visits West Carter Thursday, visits Beechwood Friday and plays Great Crossing and Ryle Saturday at Beechwood.

 

RACELAND 6-3

Raceland went 2-2 at the beach for spring break with wins over Coalfield School, TN, Barberton, OH and losses to Knox Central and Crescent, SC.

 

Raceland fell to Knox Central, 7-3. Gunnar Smith went 2 for 3 with an RBI in the loss. Brigham Davidson and Connor Thacker tripled.

 

Raceland fell to Crescent, SC, 9-8. Eli Lynd went 2 for 4 with 2RBI. Davidson added a triple.

 

Davidson and Parker Ison combined to toss a 3-0 shutout win over Coalfield School, TN. Davidson allowed only two hits and struck out four. Thacker paced the Rams with two hits, while driving in three.

 

Raceland rounded out the beach trip with a 6-3 win over Barberton, OH. Lynd went 2 for 3. Landon Bloss tripled and drove in a run. Davidson doubled and drove in a pair. Kadin Shore added a double while earning the win from the bump. Shore allowed only one hit over four innings while striking out six.

 

Raceland welcomes Fairland Monday, Ashland Wednesday, Fairview Thursday and Morgan County Saturday.

 

RUSSELL 8-3

 

Russell went 2-2 at the beach for spring break. Russell defeated Moniteau, PA, 16-6 in six innings, West Geauga, OH, 6-4 with losses to Crescent, SC, 4-1 and Bethlehem, 6-5 in nine innings.

 

Hayden McGuire allowed just one hit in three scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win against Moniteau and also had two hits and three RBIs. Kyle Mokas was a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBIs.

 

Jacob Tolliver picked up the win against West Geauga with Elijah Hankins coming on in the seventh for the save. Mokas drove in two runs.

 

Russell welcomes West Carter Tuesday, Morgan County Friday and visits Fleming County Saturday.
