Brings Innovative Services to the City

There is something new in the air in Ashland, Kentucky and it is the introduction of a few new services that the City of Ashland has arranged to keep everyone flowing through the summer with ease. As summer approaches our daily visits to the store and other places we visit daily may become more frequent, placing us in the way of needing transportation or access to those locations. While a great number of people drive, not everyone does, and not everyone knows what services and access are provided within our city. Within a few steps of our front door can typically be the accommodation of hopping on a public bus or other transportation services available in our area allowing us to travel to any of our favorite shopping locations and desired services with ease.

If you’re planning to get around the city this summer and have a desire to utilize public transportation, then this year may be the perfect time to get in on a newly added innovative service provided by the City of Ashland. Fresh for the summer of 2026 is Ashland’s new addition of PASSIOGO, an application that allows access to tracking of public transportation. Have you ever found yourself waiting at the bus stop only to realize that the transportation you have chosen has either been re-routed or is in delay?

Often such an event could result in a long wait and several minutes of phone calls, and texts to track down the ride we’ve been waiting for. With the addition of Ashland’s new bus tracking app. PASSIOGO we can now track our buses and public transportation services as they go, preventing any unnecessary waits or misunderstandings. The application allows us to access a mapping system that traces the rides as they move through the area which gives us an idea as to estimations of our travel. If we are in a hurry and have the need to gain foot on our ride, we can now open the application PASSIOGO and within seconds have a foothold on our location and estimated time of arrival. It gets better, not only does PASSIOGO allow us access to our transportation services, but we can also see where each stop is in case, we ever find ourselves in need of a ride somewhere outside of our daily routine. Why stop here?

The City of Ashland is utilizing a classy depot located at 99 15th Street of Ashland, Kentucky, which allows our city the ability to not only travel within the city but outside of the area as well by way of Greyhound bus systems. Not able to get to the bus stop on time? Not a problem! The Ashland Bus System can swing by and pick you up at or near your location with use of their Paratransit services. By calling 606 385-3287 you can take the bus a bit closer to you, allowing specialized access to all your planned locations.

Transportation isn’t the only new addition to the City of Ashland’s summer lineup as new 24/7 services are now accessible for anyone who needs to contact someone regarding their utilities, public services, or to report road damage or happenings within city limits. Erika Bonner, our City of Ashland Public Information Officer, has introduced me to the great capabilities our city has added to this year’s lineup. With new transportation tracking, Greyhound ticket purchase, transportation requests, and the ability to make personal contact with a representative of the city 24/7 for bill consultations and requests, this summer and the remainder of the year just got a whole lot easier. No matter what route you’re looking to take or what questions you may have for our city officials, there is now access with ease.  Paratransit rides with the Ashland Bus System are $1.50 per ride and $45.00 for a 30-ride pass making getting around for the summer a breeze. 10 ride passes are $15.00 and could keep you cool and save some energy on those long hauls through the area.  Paratransit identification cards must be presented for Paratransit access and can be attained through the city transportation department at 606-385-3287 from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Paratransit hours are 7:00am – 6:30pm Monday through Friday. Appointments for Paratransit services are available up to 2 weeks in advance.

Any calls you may have that pertain to bills, service and statements of observation pertaining to roads and public right-of-way can be made at 606-385-3200. There is no reason to hesitate as the City of Ashland has your back around the clock. If you have a bill that needs management, a question about public services, or need to report an outage or damage within your area, there is now the ability to contact a city representative at all hours with no limitations. Application downloads can be found at https://ashland ky.passiogo.com. Let’s enjoy this summer and make for a brighter future with Asland Kentucky’s newest additions! Accessing public services has never been this easy.
