Oktoberfest Returns to Eridanus Brewing!

Get ready to raise your stein and celebrate the spirit of Oktoberfest at Eridanus Brewing’s 3rd Annual Oktoberfest! Mark your calendars for Saturday, Sept. 28, from noon to 6 p.m., and head over to 501 Ferry Street in Downtown Russell, Kentucky, for an unforgettable day of fun, laughter, and community.
Owner Justin Matthews is thrilled to invite the community to join in the festivities. “When we opened Eridanus Brewing, we (Matthews and his wife Kristen) knew we wanted to build a community gathering place that the entire family can enjoy.” Matthews explained that it’s a common myth that a brewery can’t be family friendly. “We always have things for the kids to do inside such as board games and we always have activities for them to participate in. noted Matthews.
It was 14 years ago that Matthews brewed his first beer and ever since then he has enjoyed brewing more with each passing day. Matthews and his wife Kristen opened Eridanus Brewing back in January of 2022 and absolutely love being a part of such a great community.
This year’s Oktoberfest promises to be bigger and better than ever! “Join us for a variety of exciting activities, including games that the whole family can enjoy. Whether you’re a fan of traditional beer games or just looking to have some fun, there’s something for everyone.” Shared Matthews.
As the day unfolds, live music will keep the atmosphere vibrant and energetic, providing the perfect soundtrack to your festivities. Dance, sing along, or simply relax and enjoy the sounds while savoring all that Oktoberfest has to offer.
Guests can also look forward to games throughout the day, including a stein-holding contest where participants will challenge themselves to hold plastic steins filled with water at arm's length. There’s also a German spelling bee, promising a ton of laughter and friendly competition. To kick off the celebration, a lively group of cloggers will perform, setting a vibrant tone for the day.
No Oktoberfest would be complete without delicious food! This year, Dragonfly Outdoor Cafe will serve up scrumptious German-inspired dishes, perfect for pairing with your favorite brews. Additionally, a variety of vendors will showcase unique items for sale, providing a great opportunity to explore local crafts and specialties. Whether you’re looking for souvenirs or just want to browse, there’s something for everyone.
Of course, the highlight of Oktoberfest is the incredible selection of craft beers. Eridanus Brewing is known for its exceptional brews, and this event will feature some of the best they have to offer. Sip on classic German styles and explore new flavors, all while soaking in the festive atmosphere. Matthews noted that they will unveil several new craft beers that day during the event.
