Spring brings with it the change of seasons, warmer weather, and the reminder of keeping our lives in order with the renewal of our assets. Beit cleaning our homes, tidying the areas in our lives, or placing investments in safe places, spring reminds us to wake up from our winter slumbers and shake off the dust. There is a warm and inviting nature to the spring as the air itself changes, bringing in growth and rejuvenation for another wonderful year. As we prepare for the approach of summer some clean, some plant gardens, and some begin moving their lives around to try new things that may be fruitful in the future. Like the seasons and the changes that come with them, our lives reflect that very natural cycle of birth, growth, fruiting, and declining as we follow the natural order earth so generously grants us.

                  Beginning in Egypt and Italy sometime through 1800 B.C., human beings began to advance civilizations with preparation for our families in consideration of death and what comes after. While we focus on moving on into the afterlife, more comes with it than one single person’s story. Reminders and trinkets are everywhere, left behind with memories attached to them. The care provided for their loved ones is no longer there outside of information passed down by them and the estates that are tied to their names. Many questions arise when someone moves on such as “What now? Do we know how to pay our bills? How do I take care of what someone else used to take care of? How do I access what has been left for me?”  Estate responsibility can be the key factor in providing for our families once we are gone. In addition to our spring cleaning, financial cleaning may be exactly what we need for this year.

                  To help us along the way, Tristate Estate Attorneys of Ashland, Kentucky have put together a Spring into Estate Planning event that is intended to keep our lives together in life and after. On Saturday, March. 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 1557 Winchester Avenue on the second floor, an estate planning service will be open for anyone who has interest in learning about the security of estate stability. The event planned will begin after a 30-minute lunch-and-meet along with a brief description of the service provided.  Wills, Trusts, Power of Attorney, and Elder Law will be focused on preparing those who attend with beneficial planning strategies along with access to legal and preparation services.

                  The meeting was influenced by the reality that “Waiting too late can limit options. Guardianship, can be dealt with earlier easier.” The desired outcome for the event is to “Help with preparation, to leave knowing the next steps, not to leave families in a mess. To help with accessing what is left” says, Jenny Bailey- Woods of Tristate Estate Attorneys.  With intent being set for the strengthening of familial stability this educational session will lead those who are attending to what tools they may need through networking them towards professionals who have dedicated their lives to estate planning and executive services in our community.
