64th DISTRICT TOURNAMENT

ASHLAND 11 BOYD COUNTY 5 – CHAMPIONSHIP

Addi Laine led the Kittens on both sides of the ball in the 64th District Championship with Boyd to lead Ashland to an 11-5 win.

Laine worked a complete game from the circle and stuck out five. She went 4 for 5 at the dish and drove in two. Zoey Smith homered. Aubrey Foster drove in two.

Jaycie Goad went 2 for 3 with a pair of doubles. Kyli Kouns went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. Elyn Simpkins delivered a three-run homer.

Ashland met Bath County in the opening round of the 16th Region Tournament at Rowan County High School and Boyd County faced Rowan County.

ASHLAND 17 FAIRVIEW 0 – OPENING ROUND

Ashland cruised past Fairview, 17-0 in three innings to advance into the district championship.

Brookelyn Duckwyler went 2 for 2 with a double, home run and three RBIs. Riley Harmon and Emma Pinson each went 2 for 3 with a home run and four RBIs. Zoey Smith and Jenna Delaney doubled.

Madison Loving and Sydney Johnson collected the lone Fairview hits.

Fairview closes the season at 9-15.

63RD DISTRICT TOURNAMENT

CHAMPIONSHIP

GREENUP COUNTY 5 RACELAND 3

It took one swing of the bat for Greenup County to finally chase down something that eluded the Musketeers since they joined the 63rd District in 2006.

A district title.

Khloe Warnock smashed a three-run shot as Greenup avenged a district title loss to Raceland from last year with a 5-3 win over the Rams.

Adrian Wells went 3 for 3 with a double. Charleigh Grayson, Maddy Steele and Addy Branim each had two hits. Josey Keyley held Raceland to three hits and struck out 13.

Lilly Poplin had a pair of home runs for the Rams. Peyton Mackie collected the other Raceland hit.

Greenup met West Carter Monday in the opening round of the 16th Region Tournament at Rowan County High School and Raceland faced East Carter.

OPENING ROUND

GREENUP COUNTY 13 LEWIS COUNTY 2 (5 INNINGS)

Greenup hammered three home runs to cruise to a 13-2 win over Lewis County in the opening round of the 63rd District Tournament.

Laiken Cooper went 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs. Jaylen Cooper and Maddy Ross each had long balls. Laela Matthews had two hits, a double and drove in two. Charleigh Grayson and Maddy Steele doubled. Adrian Wells tripled and drove in two. Josey Keyley struck out nine.

RACELAND 16 RUSSELL 1 (4 INNINGS)

Raceland lit up the scoreboard with 16 runs to dispatch Russell, 16-1 in four innings in the opening round of the 16th Region Tournament.

Kali Vance went 3 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs. Peyton Mackie went 3 for 4 with a double, triple and three RBIs. Ally McMackin went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs. Bryna Wellman homered in the win. Davanna Grubb allowed only two hits and struck out six.

Bella Hall had a double and Ella Wilson drove her in for the lone Russell hits.

Russell closes the season at 9-16.
