For many women in the Ashland and Greenup County area, opportunities to step away from daily routines, meet new people, and simply enjoy time for themselves can be limited. Work, family responsibilities, and the fast pace of life often leave little room for genuine social connection. That’s why the arrival of For the Girls Social Club feels not only exciting, but necessary—a fresh and much-needed addition to the community designed with women at its heart.

Founded by sisters Amy Wells and Faith Wolfe, “For The Girls Social Club was created with a clear and intentional mission: to help women build real friendships and meaningful connections,” Wells and Wolfe explained. Both originally from Greenup County, Amy and Faith spent several years living elsewhere before finding their way back home. Returning to the Ashland area sparked a desire to give back to the community that shaped them, and to bring something new and purposeful to local women who may be feeling isolated or disconnected.

The name For the Girls Social Club says it all. This business is centered on creating welcoming, low-pressure spaces where women can come together, meet new friends, and feel supported. The first chapter, For the Girls Ashland, serves as a pilot for what the founders hope will eventually expand into other cities. But launching locally was important—it allows the sisters to build something meaningful right where their roots run deepest.

Unlike traditional clubs or organizations, For the Girls Social Club doesn’t rely on a brick-and-mortar location. Instead, events and outings are hosted at various local venues, allowing members to experience different parts of the community while forming connections. These curated social experiences give women a chance to step out of their comfort zones, try something new, and rediscover parts of themselves that may have been set aside as life became busier.

In an area where entertainment and social opportunities for women can feel scarce, For the Girls Ashland fills a vital gap. Women often prioritize everyone else—children, partners, jobs, and obligations—while unintentionally neglecting their own social and emotional needs. This club offers a reminder that friendship, laughter, and shared experiences aren’t luxuries; they’re essential.

The importance of women having dedicated spaces to connect cannot be overstated. Studies consistently show that strong social bonds reduce stress, improve mental health, and increase overall well-being. Simply spending time with others who understand your experiences can be incredibly healing. For The Girls Social Club offers a form of stress relief that doesn’t require therapy appointments or major commitments—just showing up as you are and being welcomed.

Beyond friendship, the club fosters a sense of belonging. There are no cliques, no expectations to fit a certain mold, and no pressure to perform. Women are encouraged to be themselves, to share their stories, and to support one another. That sense of being seen and valued can be transformative, especially for women who may feel overlooked or stuck in routine.

Amy and Faith want the community to know that this space is safe, inclusive, and designed for genuine connection. Whether someone is new to the area, navigating a new phase of life, or simply craving deeper friendships, For the Girls Ashland offers a place to start.

As For the Girls Social Club begins to grow in Ashland, it reminds communities that they can reach new levels of growth and success when women are supported, connected, and given room to breathe. In a region where options can be limited, this new venture brings opportunity, joy, and connection—proving that sometimes the most powerful thing you can offer is a place where women can simply be together.
