As we move into the new year, many begin taking account of where they are and what they may have accomplished for the last 12 months. Each year a many set a goal for themselves and work towards that goal with the intent of surpassing their expectations. With each new year come the occurrences and highlights that we strive for as we push for our dreams. There is something special about achieving the goals we set out for and something more special having been taken note of and recognized by others having attained those goals.
This January Heather Moore-Frame of Boyd County, Kentucky will move into her new year with knowing that she has been recognized as an accomplished academic professional. Having worked the past 15 years in education and seven years as a librarian, Heather has dedicated a significant portion of her life to education and developmental structuring for children throughout the area. Mrs. Frame has spent the past three years with Fallsburg Elementary located in Louisa, Kentucky working as a Library Media Specialist. Focusing on rural development, Mrs. Frame has integrated technology, social studies, and science with traditional library practices to better serve the students. Integrating her approaches with modern teaching has opened the door for grants such as Rural AiEdu, KEDC Passport, and KEDC’s thinkAI. With her new experiences in the grant works she has gained a foothold with the new learning platforms utilizing current and developing technologies.
Having observed the moments of realization and learning achievements of her students, Mrs. Frame has taken note of their success and cherishes their accomplishments that drive her to push for further academic access. When asked what her favorite part of her job was, Mrs. Frame answered “The most favorite part of my job is watching students be successful. There is a light that takes over when they find something they love or obtain a new skill. Being in the library I get to see those lightbulb moments a lot, and its hands down the best part of my profession.”
With the success of the students and Mrs. Frame’s determination she has been recognized by the state of Kentucky as a considerable member of the academic community. Announced to her on Dec. 2, 2025, Mrs. Frame has been selected for a position with the Kentucky Academic Standard Revision Team. An advisory panel and review committee make up two teams of KASR of which one Mrs. Frame will be placed with. Her new role will be a part of a team responsible for the revision used in developing and approving academic instruction and media utilized by Media Specialists.
Mrs. Frame’s influences that have brought her to where she is have come from her grandmother who recognized that libraries were essentially classrooms that were open for exploration. Having encouraged Mrs. Frame to pursue her life in education and library technology, Mrs. Frame’s grandmother noted that it would be a perfect line up for her as it combined education and reading, which are two of Mrs. Frame’s favorites. With passion for reading and treasured stories like “The Secret Life of Bees” from Sue Monk Kidd and “Briar Club” by Kate Quinn, Heather will carry with her favored classics and dearest students as she moves into her new role with KASR. Dedication and determination have brought Mrs. Frame to where she is and with her cherished family members, she will continue to educate children and guide them to success. With her husband Ryan Frame, daughter Mollie, and son Peyton the Frame family will see new changes in their life as Heather starts the new year with success on the horizon.
