For a singingly good time, and a jolly bout of early Christmas shopping, the Ashland Blazer High School Band is having a local vendor and craft fair on Nov. 30, from 10 a.m. -3 p.m. The event will feature free pictures with Santa, an inflatable, local food and food trucks and over 50 different local businesses and vendors.

This will be the sixth event organized by vendor and fundraising extraordinaire Twyla Agee, who has a lot of experience in setting up events and raising money for good causes. In the past, Agee has worked with the Ashland Softball team and Golf Team and looks forward to getting to help out the band this time around.

The Vendor and Craft show on Nov. 30 will feature around 50 different local businesses, as well as food trucks, ice cream trucks and more. From woodworking to apparel, the show is sure to help you find the dream present of even the most difficult person to shop for on your list.  “I like to offer them a variety, so I try not to duplicate a lot of the products,” expressed Agee about the event.

Agee herself also has experience on the vendor side of things, as she started her own custom t-shirt and sweatshirt business Just a Small-Town Girl Tees in 2021. What started as shirts, soon expanded into pillows, jewelry, and more: as Agee broadened her horizons and began attending different vendor shows. It was here that she first fell in love with the idea of being able to help the community with her products and these events.

“I think it's very important to support them [the community] in any way that you can. I think that you get more interest when it means something,” explained Agee.

Amelia Akers, a senior at Paul G. Blazer High School has been a part of the band since her freshman year and is very excited not only for the chance to support local businesses but also to fundraise for the “Pride of Blazer.”

“We hope that through fundraising we can take a trip that will not only connect us as a band, but as people, and allow us to learn more about the music we so enjoy,” commented Akers. The Blazer Band has been heavily involved in the community for many years, and it is fundraising opportunities like this one that make their trips and performances possible. The band is currently working towards a trip to showcase the talent of our local musicians, as well as many more opportunities to foster a love of music within our youth.

The event will take place Saturday, Nov. 30, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ashland Blazer High School. A free inflatable and pictures with Santa will also be available, as well as give away door prizes every 30 minutes and shopping bags for the first 50 people to show up and shop. Get into the Christmas cheer this holiday season and support the band too!
