Keeney’s Kitchen Brings Healthy,

Convenient Meals to the YMCA

A new healthy dining option is coming to the YMCA, offering busy families and individuals a convenient way to enjoy nutritious, portion-controlled meals without breaking the bank. Keeney’s Kitchen, owned and operated by Matt Keeney, is built around a simple concept: make healthy eating easier, more affordable and less stressful.

Keeney’s Kitchen began its licensed operation in January 2022 and has since grown to six retail locations, with a team of 60 employees and three transit vans supporting the business.

At the heart of the business is a focus on helping people make meaningful changes to their health through accessible food choices. Keeney said the company has served hundreds of customers and clients who have experienced significant weight loss and improvements in health, including customers who have successfully managed diabetes and lowered their A1C levels.

For Keeney and his staff, those success stories are among the most rewarding parts of operating the business. “What excites us as owners and staff members is seeing busy moms and dads overcome health issues, diabetes, high blood pressure, and so forth,” Keeney shared.

The company is also approaching a major milestone. In November, Keeney’s Kitchen expects to reach one million meals served, a milestone the business plans to celebrate with additional marketing and community outreach.

While healthy eating is the focus, affordability is also an important part of the Keeney’s Kitchen concept. Meals generally range from about $8 to $10.25, with most meals falling in the $8-to-$9 range. Higher-priced options include meals featuring steak or salmon.

Keeney said the goal is to provide substantial, nutritious meals at a price point that remains competitive with fast-food value meals. “We try to keep our price point around the $8 to $9 range,” he said.

The meals are designed to provide a convenient alternative for people who want to eat well but may not have the time to plan, prepare and portion meals themselves.

Keeney’s Kitchen describes its mission as providing a healthy, convenient option designed to reduce stress and facilitate wellness through real, portion-controlled food.

With its arrival at the YMCA, Keeney’s Kitchen will give members and the surrounding community another option for making healthier food choices part of their everyday routines.

As the business continues to grow toward its one-million-meal milestone, Keeney hopes the concept will continue to make healthy eating more accessible to the families and individuals who need it most.
