A Mystery Awaits at Jesse Stuart Lodge

Traitors and Murder,

a Murder and Merriment Event

The Ashland Beacon

Surrounded by forest and overlooking the shimmering and ever-present Greenbo Lake sits the Jesse Stuart Lodge. Since 1924, the Jesse Stuart Lodge has been hosting local events and supporting our communities with class while maintaining a steady and majestic presence. With 36 rooms across three floors and a combined 2,880 square feet of entertainment space, the lodge has played host to many years of local presentations.

As Greenbo Lake was constructed through the 1950s, the Jesse Stuart Lodge played a role in becoming a famous destination for locals and travelers, as it was conveniently located within driving distance of both U.S. 60 and U.S. 23. As Greenbo Lake took shape through the 1970s, fraternities and groups such as the Lions Club and Greenup Women’s Club reached out to politicians to secure the naming of the resort in honor of Jesse Stuart. Since its dedication, the park has grown to accommodate a 225-acre stage for recreation and a sanctuary of repose. Having played a role in providing a place of peace and regrowth for our community in honor of the arts, the Jesse Stuart Lodge will be hosting a murder mystery dining event that will echo for ages.

Come be a part of a memorable experience this September on Saturday, the 12th, as Murder and Merriment presents Traitors and Murder at the Jesse Stuart Lodge at Greenbo Lake. The murder mystery event will incorporate seven lucky contestants into a castle-themed immersion as they become part of a reality show where they will decide the fate of guilt or innocence for the calculated traitors present at the event.

A buffet-style dinner will be provided for all guests present for the evening and will be a perfect accommodation for those who choose to spend the night at the lodge for a mysterious evening of fateful surprises. The menu will be announced to the public over the next few weeks and can be found on the Facebook pages for Greenbo Lake and the Jesse Stuart Lodge.

While dinner and a stay at a local lodge are an awesome pairing for the weekend, the focus of this presentation may be the break from the workweek that many of us have been waiting for. Tensions will run high as contestants plot a meaningful demise for the traitors of the evening and guests participate by cheering on the sleuths in hopes of calling out the treacherous actors who have done their dirty work.

Tickets for Traitors and Murder are priced at $60 and can be found at the Greenbo Lodge by either visiting or calling 606.473.7324. Having produced high-quality murder mystery dining events throughout the tristate area, owner and actor of Murder and Merriment, George Snider, has built a show that is guaranteed to stay with guests for years.

Performing murder mystery events since 2014, Mr. Snider is a seasoned veteran driven by a desire to connect with the audience. Mr. Snider explains that having been performing since 2014, he has “9 companies” across several states, all dedicated to stage-actor performances. The connection to the audience is what truly defines a quality murder mystery, and this event has just that.

Anyone interested in attending Traitors and Murder is encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance to ensure a place for the evening. A stay at the lodge may also be reserved, ensuring a safe and magical night for everyone.
