64th DISTRICT

 

BOYD COUNTY 16-3

 

Boyd County ran their winning streak to 15 games after knocking off Fairview followed by wins over Logan County, 4-0, Russell County 8-0 and Whitley County, 4-2 to win the Kentucky 2A State Championship.

 

Grant Slater gave up only one hit while striking out 11 in five innings against Logan. Brody Biggs tossed a two-hit complete game shutout and struck out eight in the win over Russell County. Brogan Jones had a double and three RBIs.

 

Brayden Coleman picked up the win in relief in the championship game win over Whitley County. Coleman allowed two hits and no runs in three and a third innings.

 

Boyd blanked Fairview, 9-0. Kaleb Kelley and Grant Slater went 2 for 4 with an RBI. Kaden Jones and Brogan Jones had doubles. Cole Adams struck out six over three innings of work.

 

Boyd welcomes East Carter Monday, Ashland Tuesday and visits Huntington Saturday.

 

 

ASHLAND 7-14

 

Ashland went 1-2 this week with a win over East Carter and losses to Spring Valley and Rowan County.

 

Ashland fell to Spring Valley, 7-2. Brady Marushi and Chase Morrison had the Tomcats only hits. Asher Moore and Morrison drove in the Tomcats only runs.

 

Ashland fell to Rowan County, 14-3 in five innings. Connor Flowers and Marushi collected the only two Ashland hits. Flowers delivered a bases clearing triple. Marushi doubled.

 

Ashland closed the week with a 12-3 win over East Carter. Pierce Wamsley went 3 for 4 with 3RBI. LJ Murphy tacked on a pair of hits and had 2RBI. Drew Kelley, Marushi and Flowers doubled in the win.

 

Ashland visits Boyd Tuesday, welcomes Huntington Wednesday, East Carter Thursday and visits Russell Saturday.

 

 

FAIRVIEW 8-9

 

Fairview went 2-1 this week with wins over Green, OH and Lewis County and a loss to Boyd County.

 

Fairview fell to Boyd, 9-0. Tevin Smith had the only Eagles hit in the loss.

 

Fairview bounced back with a 12-4 win over Green. Jeffery Everetts went 3 for 5 with 3RBI in the win. Izaac Johnson had two hits and drove in three with a double. Jace Manning doubled as well.

 

Fairview knocked off Lewis County, 6-4. Landon Stapleton doubled. Everetts drove in two. Manning fanned 12 in 6 1/3 innings of work.

 

Fairview welcomes Morgan County Wednesday and Green on Saturday.

 

GREENUP COUNTY 12-10

 

Greenup went 2-1 this week with a win over Mason County and a split with Russell in the district double header.

 

Greenup fell in Game 1, 5-2. Gavin Roy went 2 for 3 with a double and RBI. Kyler Robinson drove in the other run.

 

Kasey Gammon pitched Greenup to a 10-2 win in Game 2. He fanned six while allowing only five hits in the complete game effort. Roy paced the Musketeers offense with a pair of doubles and 3RBI. Luke Boggs added two doubles and drove in three. Colin Alexander and Sawyer Hatfield each doubled.

 

Greenup closed the week with an 8-3 win over Mason. Gage Lamarque went 2 for 3 with a triple and 5RBI. Ty Logan drove in a pair.

 

Greenup welcomes Raceland Monday, visits Raceland Tuesday and welcomes Huntington Thursday.

 

RACELAND 15-4

 

Raceland went 3-0 this week with a pair of district wins over Lewis County and a 2-1 win over Campbellsville in the All “A” State Tournament.

 

Raceland hammered Lewis 19-3 in Game 1. Parker Ison went 4 for 4 with 2RBI and a double. Brigham Davidson had a pair of doubles and drove in three. Landon Bloss collected three hits and drove in a pair. Connor Thacker and Eli Lynd doubled as well.

 

Raceland took Game 2, 8-2. Lynd went 3 for 4 with a double and 3RBI. Kadin Shore doubled and drove in a run.

 

Raceland visits Greenup Monday, welcomes Greenup Tuesday and sees Harrison County and Jackson, OH Saturday as a part of the Raceland Derby Classic.

 

RUSSELL 12-9

 

Russell went 1-1 this week with a spilt against Greenup County.

 

Russell took Game 1, 5-2. Jacob Tolliver went 3 for 3 with a pair of doubles in the win. Hayden Mcguire, Avery Lother and Grayson Kiser each collected a pair of hits. Caden Criswell and Kiser had doubles.  

 

Russell fell 10-2 in Game 2. Kyle Mokas went 2 for 4. Jared Whitt and Gunnar Hignite doubled in the loss.

 

Russell welcomes Lewis County Monday, visits Lewis Tuesday, welcomes Fairland Thursday and Ashland Saturday.
