64th DISTRICT

 

ASHLAND 13-19

Ashland went 1-3 this week with a win over Paintsville and losses to Russell, Raceland and Lawrence County.

 

Ashland fell to Russell, 5-2. Parker Church went 2 for 3. LJ Murphy and Pierce Wamsley had RBIs. 

 

Ashland lost to Raceland, 7-2. Brady Marushi doubled and went 2 for 2. Murphy doubled and drove in a run. Chandler Kisor added an RBI.

 

Ashland came up short to Lawrence County, 6-4. Marushi went 2 for 3 with a home run and 3RBIs. Asher Moore and Kisor each had a pair of hits.

 

Ashland closed the regular season with a 7-2 win over Paintsville. Marushi and Wamsley had a pair of hits. Marushi homered and drove in two. Wamsley had a double and a pair of RBIs. Sam Lyons had a 2RBI single. Drew Kelley added a double.

 

Ashland meets Fairview Monday night in the opening round of the 64th District Tournament.

 

BOYD COUNTY 26-4

Boyd went 2-0 this week with wins over Ironton and Raceland to close the regular season.

 

Boyd blanked Ironton, 9-0. Dane Jones struck out eight while allowing only three hits. Grant Slater went 3 for 5 with a pair of doubles and an RBI. Kaleb Kelley had a pair of hits and drove in two. Caleb Gray went 2 for 3 with a double and RBI. Brody Biggs had an RBI double.

 

Boyd defeated Raceland, 11-3. Conner Davis went 3 for 4 with a homer, triple and drove in three. Josh Kelley and Brogan Jones drove in two. Senior Kyle Cordial allowed one earned run in three innings and picked up the win on Senior Night.

 

Boyd awaits the winner of Ashland and Fairview for the 64th District Championship Wednesday night.

 

FAIRVIEW 14-12

 

Fairview went 2-1 this week with wins over Bath County and South Point and a loss to Greenup.

 

Tanner Reihs tossed a complete game while allowing only three hits as Fairview knocked off Bath, 5-1. Jace Manning went 2 for 4 with an RBI. Tevin Smith also drove in a run.

 

Fairview fell to Greenup, 5-3. Izaac Johnson went 3 for 4 with a double and RBI. Hunter Good and Reihs also drove in a run.

 

Fairview closed the regular season with a 4-1 win over South Point. Manning struck out nine over five innings of work while going 3 for 3 at the plate. Jeffery Everetts drove in two.

 

Fairview meets Ashland Monday night in the opening round of the 64th District Tournament.

 

GREENUP COUNTY 15-17

 

Greenup went 1-1 this week with a win over Fairview and a loss to Jackson, OH.

 

Greenup defeated Fairview, 5-3. Cam Underwood struck out nine in 6 2/3 innings of relief. Ty Logan went 3 for 4 with an RBI. Kasey Gammon went 2 for 3 with a pair of doubles and an RBI.

 

Greenup fell to Jackson, 14-3. Gavin Roy went 2 for 4. Kyler Robinson and Sawyer Hatfield had doubles.

 

Greenup meets Russell Monday night in the opening round of the 63rd District Tournament at Raceland.

 

RACELAND 23-6

Raceland went 2-1 this week with wins over Bath County and Ashland and a loss to Boyd County.

 

Raceland knocked off Bath County, 13-0 in five innings. Kadin Shore went 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI. Eli Lynd added two doubles and drove in three. Cade Coldiron and Brigham Davidson each doubled.

 

Raceland fell to Boyd, 11-3. Parker Ison went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Shore tripled in his lone hit.

 

Raceland welcomes Lewis County Monday night in the opening round of the 63rd District Tournament.

 

RUSSELL 18-12

Russell went 2-1 this week with wins over Ashland and East Carter and a loss to Rowan County.

 

Russell opened the week with a 5-2 win over Ashland. Elijah Hankins went 3 for 4 with two RBIs. Jared Whitt went 2 for 4 with a double and RBI. Dawson Wada had a pair of hits. Kyle Mokas allowed two runs in six innings for the win.

 

Russell defeated East Carter, 7-5. Mokas went 3 for 4. Avery Lother, Griffin Fisher and Wada doubled.

 

Russell fell to Rowan, 10-5. Gunnar Hignite drove in three and Mokas collected the other two.

 

Russell meets Greenup County Monday night in the opening round of the 63rd District Tournament at Raceland.
