ASHLAND 8-15

 

Ashland went 1-1 this week with a win over Huntington and a loss to Boyd County.

 

Ashland jumped out to an early 4-0 lead but fell to Boyd, 5-4 in six innings. Drew Kelley had a pair of hits in the loss. Connor Flowers doubled and drove in a run. LJ Murphy fanned eight in the losing effort.

 

Ashland bounced back with a 6-5 win over Huntington. Murphy went 4 for 4 with a double and RBI. Chandler Kisor went 2 for 3 with a double and 2RBI. Brady Marushi added a pair of hits.

Ashland visits Fairview Tuesday, welcomes Spring Valley Tuesday, Paintsville Friday and Pike County Central Saturday.

 

BOYD COUNTY 19-3

 

Boyd went 3-0 this week with wins over East Carter, Ashland and Huntington, 4-0 to extend its winning streak to 18 games.

 

Josh Kelley and Conner Davis each had two hits in the Lions 5-4 win over East Carter. Davis tripled and drove in a pair of runs. Kelley doubled and drove in two. Brayden Coleman doubled and added an RBI. Brayden Nunley tossed five innings from the bump while striking out nine in the win.

 

Boyd defeated Ashland, 5-4 in six innings. Conner Davis drove in a pair of runs. Caleb Gray and Grant Slater added an RBI each as well.

 

Boyd welcomes Johnson Central Monday, visits Cabell Midland Tuesday and plays Simon Kenton Friday followed by Mercer County and Lexington Dunbar Saturday at Dunbar in the Fayette County Invitational.

 

FAIRVIEW 9-10

 

Fairview went 1-1 this week with a win over Morgan County and a 6-2 loss to Green, OH in six innings.

 

Fairview defeated Morgan County, 9-8. Tanner Reihs went 3 for 4 with an RBI. Hunter Good went 2 for 4 with a pair of RBIs. Austin Pack doubled and drove in two.

 

Fairview visits Tolsia, WV Monday, welcomes Ashland Tuesday, visits Russell Thursday and Chesapeake Friday.

 

GREENUP COUNTY 12-13

 

Greenup went 0-3 this week with a pair of losses to Raceland and a 13-1 loss to Fleming County in five innings.

 

Greenup fell in Game 1, 7-2 to Raceland. Kyler Robinson and Gage Lamarque doubled in the loss.

 

Greenup lost Game 2, 14-7. After trailing 7-3 through three, the Musketeers evened the game at 7-7 but could not close things out after Raceland exploded for seven runs in the sixth. Brody Howard went 3 for 4 with 2RBI. Cam Underwood went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Gavin Roy had a pair of hits and drove in two. Robinson doubled in his lone hit in the game.

 

Greenup visits Wheelersburg Tuesday, Portsmouth West Wednesday, Tates Creek Friday and plays West Jessamine and Scott County Saturday at Tates Creek in the FCIT.

 

RACELAND 18-5

 

Raceland went 3-0 this week with a pair of wins over Greenup County and Cabell Midland.

 

Raceland knocked off Greenup, 7-2 in Game 1. Kadin Shore went the distance while allowing four hits and striking our four. Eli Lynd went 3 for 4 with a double and RBI. Connor Thacker hit a two-run home run. Gunnar Smith and Shore also added doubles.

 

Shore paced the Rams to a 14-7 win over the Musketeers in Game 2. The senior went 3 for 4 with a home run, double and 3RBI. Michael Pennington went 3 for 4 with a double and 3RBI as well. Parker Ison, Lynd and Thacker also doubled.

 

Raceland knocked off Midland, 5-2. Brigham Davidson went the distance, striking out six while allowing only one earned run. Shore and Landon Bloss had doubles.

 

Raceland visits East Carter Tuesday, Huntington Wednesday and Fleming County Friday.

 

RUSSELL 15-9

 

Russell went 3-0 this week with a pair of wins over Lewis County and a 2-1 win over Mason County.

 

Russell hammered Lewis, 17-2 in four innings in Game 1. Kyle Mokas led the Devils with three hits including a triple and 2RBI. Jacob Tolliver doubled and drove in two. Elijah Hankins drove in two.

 

Russell took Game 2, 13-2 in five innings. Mokas had a pair of doubles and Hankins added another. Griffin Fisher drove in two with a pair of hits.

 

Russell visits South Point Tuesday, welcomes Fairview Thursday and Ironton Friday.
