64th DISTRICT

 

ASHLAND 3-5

 

Ashland fell in overtime in two contests this week in the King of the Bluegrass Tournament in Louisville. Woodford County defeated Ashland, 71-70 in the opening round. Lloyd Memorial took a 60-57 win in the second game.  The Tomcats dropped their third straight Saturday 72-57 to Butler County.

 

Braxton Jennings and Zander Carter both tossed in 24 points in the loss to Woodford. Preston Hoskins tied the game with a three as timed expired in regulation against Lloyd but the Tomcats were outscored 9-6 in overtime. Tyson LaLonde scored 16 in the loss in which Ashland led by 14 points in the first half.

 

Ashland opens with Walton-Verona in the AIT on Dec. 27.

 

BOYD COUNTY 4-5

 

Boyd went 1-2 this week with a 77-59 win over Winter Haven, FL and a 65-61 loss to Dorman, SC in Kingsport, TN and a 114-105 setback to Dobyns-Bennett.

 

Jacob Spurlock led the Lions with 28 points in the win over Winter Haven. Jackson Childers added 16, Cole Hicks 13 and Ethan Rardon 11.

 

Boyd meets Bryan Station on Dec. 27 in the WGM Holiday Tournament at Lex Cath.

 

FAIRVIEW 0-8

Fairview went 0-3 this week with losses to East Carter, 61-49 and Raceland, 64-36. Eli Shope led the Eagles with 13 points, scoring 11 in the first half against East Carter.

 

Fairview fell to Holmes 76-4 Saturday and closed out the Raceland Derby Classic against East Ridge on Sunday.

 















63RD DISTRICT

 

GREENUP COUNTY 2-5

 

The Musketeers only game this week was a 73-52 loss to Ironton. No stats were reported.

 Greenup County heads to South Carolina for three games after Christmas.

 

RACELAND 7-1

Raceland picked up three wins this week with a 62-56 overtime win at East Carter and a 64-36 win over Fairview followed by a 72-57 win over East Ridge in their Derby Classic.

 

Jonah Arnett led the Rams with 22 points in the win over East Carter. Arnett hit five of the six Raceland 3s in the win. Tre Douglas added 12 points. Connor Thacker netted nine points and 12 rebounds.

 

Raceland closed out the Derby Classic against Holmes Sunday.

 






RUSSELL 3-4

Russell went 0-3 this week with losses to Elliott County, 54-37 Fairland, 50-38 and Lawrence County 81-72.

 

Caleb Rimmer had 19 points and eight rebounds in the loss to Elliott. He was the only player in double figures.

 

Rimmer led the Devils with 26 against Lawrence County and Ryder Burgess pitched in 17.

 

Russell meets Danville Christian in the AIT on Dec. 27.
