ASHLAND 2-5-1

 

Ashland was shutout in every game this week and went 0-4 with losses to East Carter, 1-0, Ironton St. Joe, 6-0, Warren Central, 8-0 and Bowling Green, 8-0.

 

Ashland welcomes Lawrence County Tuesday and Cooper on Saturday. 

 

BOYD COUNTY 3-2

Boyd County went 1-1 this week with a 5-1 win over Fleming County and a 2-0 loss to Mason County in the opening round of the Kentucky 2A Sectionals. 

 

Boyd fired 10 shots on goal in the loss to Mason but could not find the mark on any of the attempts. 

Boyd bounced back with a solid win over Fleming led by Wil Blankenship’s hat trick. Ryan Roberson and Caleb Clark added goals. Ryan Crank and Eli Simpkins each added two assists and Mason Hamilton kicked in another. 

 

Boyd welcomes East Carter Tuesday and Bourbon County on Thursday. 

 




GREENUP COUNTY 3-3-1

 

Greenup picked up a pair of wins this week with a 7-4 defeat of Paintsville and a 1-0 win over Portsmouth West. 

 

Landen Hedge and Josiah Beach each turned in a hat trick in the win over Paintsville. Carter Nunley had three assists. Logan Stambaugh, Brantley Snider, Hedge and Beach each added an assist. Owen Collier nabbed 11 saves in goal. 

 

Greenup welcomes Ignite Christian Thursday. 

 

RUSSELL 7-2

 

Russell went 3-1 this week with wins over Lawrence, 6-0, Ignite Christian, 6-1 and East Carter, 4-0 and an 8-0 loss to Hurricane, WV. 

 

Brylee Mullins and Gavin Grandinson each tallied hat tricks in the shutout win over Lawrence. Mullins also had two assists and Trey Evans added another. Hayden Barlow had two saves in goal. 

 

Grandinson kicked in two goals in the win over Ignite Christian. Ryder Prickett, Gunnar Hignite, William Meadows, Noah Miller and Mullins added assists in the win. Barlow had a pair of saves in net. 

 

Grandinson, Mullins, Miller and Higite each turned in a goal in the shutout win over East Carter. Mullins and Prickett had assists. Caden Hampton worked a clean contest in net with four saves. 

 

Russell visits Wheelersburg Thursday and welcomes Ignite Athletics Saturday.
