BOYS SOCCER RECAP 9/9/25

ASHLAND 3-6-1

 

Ashland went 1-1 this week with an 8-2 win over Lawrence County and a 3-1 loss to Cooper in the Eastern Kentucky Soccer Showcase.

 

Max McAlister netted three goals and added a pair of assists in the win over Lawrence. Luke Moore, Will Kasey, Dawson Morris, Silas Pierzala and Michael Wilson added goals. Troy Barnett and Pierzala had two assists each. Zac Johnson added another.

 

Ashland welcomes Spring Valley Tuesday and Boyd County on Thursday.

 

BOYD COUNTY 5-2

 

Boyd County earned a pair of wins this week with a 1-0 victory over East Carter and a 2-1 win over Bourbon County.

 

Caleb Clark netted the only goal in the win over East but the stars of the show was the Lions defense. Cole Adams had 14 saves in goal in the shutout while holding one of the top scoring offenses in the region scoreless.

 

Wil Blankenship and Clark led the Lions over Bourbon with goals for their third consecutive win. Ryan Crank and Mason Hamilton added assists.

 

Boyd visits Lawrence Monday, welcomes Ironton Tuesday, visits Ashland Thursday and Pikeville Saturday.

 

GREENUP COUNTY 3-3-1

 

Greenup was idle this week. They welcome Chesapeake on Thursday.

 

RUSSELL 8-3

 

Russell went 1-1 this week with a 4-0 win over Ignite Athletics and a 4-0 loss to Wheelersburg.

 

Brylee Mullins and William Meadows each netted two goals and added an assist. Trey Evans and Gavin Grandinson added assists. Caden Hampton had a pair of saves in net against Ignite.

 

Russell welcomes Rowan Thursday.
