Boys’ Soccer Recap- October 8, 2024

ASHLAND 4-9-3

 

Ashland went 0-2 this week with losses to East Carter, 2-1 and Wheelersburg, 6-2.

 

Brian Church netted the lone goal in a loss to East Carter. Landon Alfaro Guerrero assisted on the goal. Maxx Brown had four saves.

 

Troy Barnett and Silas Pierzala each scored a goal in the loss to Wheelersburg. Brown had four saves.

 

Ashland plays Boyd Monday in the opening round of the 63rd District Tournament.

 

BOYD COUNTY 8-7

Boyd defeated Belfry, 5-0 in the only contest this week. Ezekiel Withrow had two goals in the win. Conner Davis and Cameron Stanton scored a goal and assisted on another. Caleb Clark netted the final goal. Ryan Crank and Alex Maynard had assists. Logan Bradley had two saves in the shutout effort.

 

Boyd plays Ashland Monday night in the opening round of the 63rd District Tournament.

 








RUSSELL 9-8

 

Russell went 1-1 this week with a 3-2 win over Spring Valley and a 5-0 loss to Wheelersburg.

 

Russell will play the winner of Ashland and Boyd in the 63rd District Championship Wednesday at 8 p.m.

 

GREENUP COUNTY 1-9

 

Greenup fell to Fleming County, 8-0. The Musketeers play West Carter Monday night at 8 p.m. in the 62ndDistrict Tournament.
