The Ashland Little League 8U All-Stars captured their third consecutive Kentucky District 6 championship Thursday, battling through two hard-fought victories over Boyd-Catlettsburg to earn the title.

Entering the day needing back-to-back wins against Boyd-Catlettsburg, Ashland rose to the challenge.

In the opening game, Ashland built a four-run lead in the second inning and held off a late Boyd-Catlettsburg rally for an 8-7 victory. Ashland pounded out 15 hits in the win.

Adarah Strader led the offense with three hits, including an inside-the-park home run and a triple. Lexi Mellert earned the win in the circle while also producing at the plate with three hits, highlighted by an RBI double.

Boyd-Catlettsburg also finished with 15 hits. Macey Geyer led the offense with two hits and three RBIs.

With the championship forcing a winner-take-all second game, Ashland once again answered the call, defeating Boyd-Catlettsburg 15-11 to secure the District 6 title.

Ashland's offense exploded for 19 hits in the championship game. Strader and Aviana Coomes each collected three hits. Strader finished with an inside-the-park home run and two doubles, while Coomes added a double and an inside-the-park home run to power the Ashland lineup.

Boyd-Catlettsburg totaled 13 hits in the loss. Anniston Fritz turned in an outstanding performance, going 3-for-3 with four RBIs to lead Boyd-Catlettsburg offensively.

Ashland and Boyd-Catlettsburg both earned berths in the Little League State Tournament, where they will represent District 6.

The Ashland 8-10 Little League All-Stars continued their dominance Thursday, rallying past Fleming County 10-6 to capture their third consecutive Kentucky District 6 Championship and earn a berth in the state tournament.

Ashland overcame an early deficit after Fleming County built a 3-2 lead before the defending champions erupted in the top of the third inning. Ashland sent its offense into high gear, plating five runs on four hits to seize a 7-3 advantage they would never relinquish.

The turning point came when Lydia Brammer delivered a clutch two-run triple to cap the big inning and give Ashland all the momentum.

Brammer also took control in the circle, turning in three scoreless innings of relief. She allowed just two hits while striking out five without issuing a walk, shutting down the Fleming County offense over the final three frames.

Ashland pounded out 13 hits in the championship victory. Sadie Cannoy led the offensive attack with three hits in three at-bats as the All-Stars consistently put pressure on the Fleming County defense throughout the game.

With the district championship secured, Ashland advances to the Kentucky Little League State Tournament, where the team will look to continue its impressive postseason run.

Ashland 10-12 All-Stars attempt for a clean sweep for Ashland in all-stars came up just short as they fell to Fleming County in the District 6 championship game.

Ashland had defeated Lewis County 15-0 to advance to the title game.
