64th DISTRICT

 

ASHLAND 7-7

Ashland went 1-4 this week with a win over Russell and losses to Ironton, Lawrence County, 11-7, Portsmouth Notre Dame, 15-1 and Hurricane, WV, 11-7.

 

Ashland defeated Russell, 22-12 in an offensive shootout. Zoey Smith went 4 for 5, hit two homeruns and drove in four. Emma Pinson went 4 for 4 with a double. Brookelyn Duckwyler added a home run and drove in three. Addison Wolfe homered and tripled in the win.

 

Ashland visits Boyd Tuesday, Male Friday and Livingston Central and Ballard Saturday at the Ballard Triangle.

 

BOYD COUNTY 9-7

 

Boyd went 1-4 this week with a win over Mercy Academy, 10-8 and losses to Rowan County, Portsmouth Notre Dame, Winfield, WV, 3-2 and Bryan Station, 4-3.

 

Boyd fell to Rowan, 3-2. Elyn Simpkins homered and drove in two. Kyli Kouns doubled.

 

Boyd fell to Portsmouth Notre Dame, 10-6. Jadyn Goad and Lacyn Black had a pair of hits. Kouns tripled and drove in two.

 

Savanna Henderson homered in the win over Mercy.

 

Boyd welcomes Fairview Monday, Ashland Tuesday, visits Lincoln County, WV Thursday, welcomes Logan, WV Friday and Lakota East, OH Saturday.

 

FAIRVIEW 5-4

 

Fairview went 0-2 this week with losses to Elliott County and West Carter.

 

Fairview fell to Elliott, 15-1 in five innings in the All “A” Classic. Addie Dalton, Paige VanBibber and Olivia Meade collected the three Eagles hits.

 

Fairview fell to West Carter, 15-0 in three innings. Kailyn Adkins and VanBibber had the only two hits.

 

Fairview visits Boyd Monday, visits Martin County Wednesday, Russell Thursday and Morgan County Saturday.

 

63rd DISTRICT

 

GREENUP COUNTY 9-2

Greenup went 1-1 this week with a district win over Lewis County and a 7-0 loss to Grant County.

 

Josey Kegley struck out 13 and allowed only two hits in a 9-1 win over Lewis. Addison Branim went 2 for 3. Adrian Wells and Laela Matthews doubled.

 

Greenup was limited to only one hit in the 7-0 loss to Grant County. Maddy Steele singled.

 

Greenup visits Lawrence County Monday, welcomes Portsmouth Tuesday, visits Raceland Thursday and Rowan County Friday.

 



RACELAND 11-3

 

Raceland went 3-1 this week with wins over West Carter and Elliott County in the All “A” Classic and a district win over Lewis County and a loss to Portsmouth Notre Dame.

 

Raceland defeated West, 19-0. Peyton Mackie went 3 for 3 with a double, triple and 3RBI. Davanna Grubb homered and drove in three. Baylee Burney and Lilly Poplin added homers as well. Allison McMackin tripled.

 

Raceland defeated Elliott, 19-0. Poplin went 3 for 3 with a double, home run and 5RBI. Kali Vance homered and drove in five. Bryna Wellman and McMackin doubled.

 

Raceland fell to Portsmouth Notre Dame, 5-4. Shelby Gauze went 2 for 3. Wellman doubled and drove in two. Poplin smacked a homer in her only hit.

 

Raceland defeated Lewis, 7-2 to pick up their first district win of the year. Vance went 3 for 4 with a double and RBI. McMackin went 2 for 3 with a pair of RBIs. Poplin doubled as well. Grubb earned the win from the circle while allowing seven hits and striking out six.

 

Raceland welcomes Russell Tuesday and Greenup Thursday.

 

RUSSELL 5-8

Russell went 1-2 this week with a win over Grant County, 15-0 and losses to Ashland and Johnson Central, 10-5.

 

Russell fell to Ashland, 22-12. Jayla Chalupa went 3 for 4 with a double and 2RBI. Bella Hall homered and drove in two. Hadley Cook and Ava Howard added doubles.

 

Russell visits Raceland Tuesday, welcomes Fairview Thursday and plays Fleming County Saturday at East Carter.
