GIRLS SOCCER RECAP- 9/23/25

ASHLAND 6-7

 

Ashland fell to Russell, 5-1 in their only contest this week. Meisha Salisbury had the lone Ashland goal off an assist from Marisa Baker.

 

Ashland welcomes Rowan County Tuesday, visits Fleming County Wednesday and welcomes Wheelersburg Thursday.

 

BOYD COUNTY 9-2-1

 

Boyd went 2-0-1 this week with wins over West Carter and Rowan and a 2-2 tie with Minford.

 

Boyd defeated West Carter, 5-2. Aubree Moore and Faith Burnside had a pair of goals each. Eden Henderson added the fifth goal for the Lions. Moore had two assists. Viv Allen and Burnside added an assist each.

 

Burnside paced the Lions with four goals in their 6-0 win over Rowan. Moore had a goal and assist. Gracie Crowe rounded out the scoring. Elissa Perkins, Henderson and Allen also had assists. Emilee Bush worked a clean game in net with six saves.

 

Boyd welcomes Estill County Monday and Russell Thursday.

 

GREENUP COUNTY 5-6

 

Greenup went 1-1 this week with a 1-0 win over Bath County and an 8-0 loss to East Carter.

 

Eva Wireman had the game winner in the win over Bath. Peyton Pennington had two saves in net.

 

Greenup visits South Point Monday and Lawrence County Thursday.

 

RUSSELL 9-1-3

 

Russell picked up wins this week over Fleming County, 9-0, Ashland, 5-1 and played to a 3-3 tie with Huntington. Ava Barker and Emma Stamper each had two goals in the win over Ashland and Kaelyn Howard added a goal.

 

Russell welcomes Mason County Monday and visits Boyd on Thursday.
