ASHLAND 2-1

It was a long-awaited homecoming for the Tomcats on a night that they would unveil a new look to Putnam Stadium. A brand-new turf playing surface and a jumbotron were the feature points of the night as fans got a chance to relish in the new look Clarks Pump and Shop Putnam Stadium for the first time this season.

With a new look stadium also brought a new opponent in Harvest Prep who decided to spoil the night that was already upended by weather. Harvest Prep led 12-10 at the break but after a lengthy weather delay, the Warriors dominated the second half with a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns and a 26-10 win.

Ashland opened the game with an 18-yard touchdown pass by LaBryant Strader to Cam Davis and a 7-0 lead midway through the first. Troy Barnett drilled a 31-yard field goal early in the second for a 10-0 lead, but the kick would provide the Tomcats with their final points of the night. Harvest Prep dented the scoreboard one minute later to cut the lead to only three and took the lead for good with five minutes to play in the half.

Strader threw for 120 yards but was picked off twice. Braxton Jennings had 59 receiving yards on six balls. Sam Lyons kicked in 48 on five catches.

Boyd rushed for 367 yards and Rhett Holbrook threw for 250 more, including three touchdowns. Kaleb Kelley provided the fireworks before the lightning show Friday night with an 85-yard kickoff to the house to open the affair. He added five catches for 95 yards and two more scores. GREENUP COUNTY 3-0

Mother nature forced this game to wait an extra day before Greenup and Portsmouth could tangle. That just gave Tyson Sammons and the Musketeers another day to prep for the Trojans and the numbers spoke for themselves.

Sammons accounted for five total touchdowns including four through the air as Greenup dumped Portsmouth, 37-26. Sammons threw for 241 yards with Jasper Davis and Drew Boggs being the seniors lone targets. Davis hauled in six balls for 130 yards and three touchdowns. Boggs had 111 on four catches and a score.
