ASHLAND 4-2

 

Ashland defeated Greenup County, 35-21 to open district play.

 

Brody Simpkins ran for 200 yards on 10 carries and a touchdown. Cam Davis added 193 yards on only eight totes with three house calls. Trevonte Taylor pitched in 74 yards and a score. As a team, Ashland rushed for 481 yards.

 

Ashland welcomes Rowan County Friday night.

 

BOYD 4-2

Boyd fell to Johnson Central, 21-14 Friday night to open district play. Jace Manning threw for 114 yards in the loss. Boyd was held to only 92 rushing yards in the loss. Manning led the Lions with 27 yards on four carries. Blake Sexton had both Boyd touchdowns.

 

Boyd welcomes Greenup County Friday night.

 

FAIRVIEW 4-2

 

Fairview cruised to a 44-6 win over Phelps Friday night. Jace Murray led the Eagles with 198 rushing yards and a pair of scores including a 76-yarder on his final house call. Jeffery Everetts kicked in 86 rushing yards and a score. Hunter Good scored a pair of touchdowns as well.

 

Fairview welcomes Nicholas County Friday.

 

GREENUP COUNTY 2-4

 

Greenup fell to Ashland, 35-21 to open district play.

 

Jasper Davis threw for 170 yards with a touchdown in the loss. Kasey Gammon hauled in 110 yards on four balls. Landry Lewis had the receiving touchdown. Davis rushed for a score and also had a 67-yard pick six.

 

Greenup visits Boyd Friday night.

 

RACELAND 4-1

 

Raceland was idle this week. The Rams visit Hazard Friday night.

 

RUSSELL 5-1

 

Russell routed Fleming County, 49-14 behind five Jayden Frasure touchdown passes. Frasure threw for 365 yards in the win. Jayden Pennington had two catches—both for touchdowns—for 172 yards. Jordan Rowe hauled in four passes for 84 yards and two scores. Kanenan Jacobs added a 36-yard touchdown. Frasure led the Devils with 46 rushing yards and a score. Kaiden Benge ran for another.

Russell exercises it's bye week this week.
