ASHLAND 1-2

 

Ashland fell to Lawrence County, 24-21 Thursday night in Louisa.

 

Cam Davis had a monster night for the Tomcats with 177 rushing yards on 27 carries with a pair of scores. Brody Simpkins added 100 yards on 12 totes and a TD.

 

Ashland led 7-6 at the break but fell behind after Lawrence County added 12 third quarter points. Ashland had a shot at the end of regulation for the win, but a field goal attempt missed the mark as the clock struck zeros.

 

Ashland welcomes East Jessamine Friday.

 

BOYD 2-1

 

The storm that filled the sky over Cannonsburg was not the only one that Boyd County had to endure when East Carter visited Friday night.

 

After a disastrous start to the game, Boyd found themselves down 15-0 to East Carter and never got over the hump as the Raiders pulled away for a 34-20 win. Jace Manning threw for 190 yards with a touchdown and interception in the loss. Cameron May hauled in seven balls for 87 yards. Thomas Crawford added 76 yards and a touchdown on three catches. James McDaniels and Blake Sexton visited the endzone on the ground. Brody Castle paced the Lions defense with 21 tackles, including 3 TFLs. Ian Branham had 12 stops and a blocked punt. Conner Davis hauled in an interception.

 

Boyd hits the road Friday night in a trip to Mason County.

 

FAIRVIEW 2-1

 

Fairview showed off a powerful rushing attack as the Eagles hammered Berea, 38-0.

 

Three Eagles had rushing touchdowns in the win. Jace Murray had a pair on his five carries in the game. Dreshawn Whitfield and Armani Burnside each added a score. Jeffery Everetts added a punt return for a score to round out the scoring.

 

Fairview visits Morgan County Friday night.

 

GREENUP COUNTY 1-2

 

Greenup County found the first nine points of the game with Portsmouth after a safety and Ashur Wireman 36-yard touchdown run. But the Trojans would answer with 24 consecutive points for a 24-9 win over the Musketeers.

 

Wireman ran for 44 yards on 10 carries. Jasper Davis threw for 152 yards with an interception. Kasey Gammon had three catches for 59 yards. Tyler Johnson added three grabs for 34. Eric Campbell led the way defensively with 15 tackles. Nolan Clarkson and Christian Wheeler each had 10.

 

Greenup welcomes East Carter Friday night.

 

RACELAND 2-1

 

Raceland looked poised to run Pikeville off their own field Friday night when the Rams visited Pikeville. Raceland led 27-0 late in the third when play was finally halted due to lightning over the stadium. However, when play resumed, it was all Pikeville as the Panthers stormed back with 35 unanswered points while taking the lead for good with 16 seconds to play in the contest for a 35-27 win over the Rams.

 

Jake Waller threw for 147 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Jonah Arnett and Shannon Marushi hauled in touchdown grabs. Landen Stiltner ran for 100 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries. Landyn Goodall hauled in an interception.

 

Raceland welcomes Mercer County Friday night.

 

RUSSELL 3-0

 

Russell wasted little time of putting West Carter away with a 35-0 win in Olive Hill.

 

Jayden Frasure threw for 162 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the win. He also ran for two scores. Jordan Rowe caught a 51-yard touchdown on his only catch of the night. Lane Osborne added a 32-yard TD reception. Jayden Pennington added a punt return for a score.

 

Russell welcomes Paintsville Friday.
