ASHLAND 2-0


Ashland opened the season with a pair of straight set wins over Prestonsburg and Wolfe County.  Mena Pittman led Ashland with 9 kills against Prestonburg. Elise Marcum and Sydney Mertz had 6 apiece. Caroline Lowman had nine aces and Karley Sperry, who recorded 19 digs, was presented a ball by Athletic Director Jim Conway for her 1,000th career dig.

Ashland visits Greenup Monday, travels to Spring Valley Tuesday, Rowan County Thursday and welcomes Pikeville and Sayre on Saturday.


BOYD COUNTY


Boyd opens its season this week with a trip to Cabell Midland on Tuesday and Fairview on Thursday.


FAIRVIEW 3-1


Fairview opened the season with three wins and a loss to Raceland in the 16th Region All “A” Championship.

Fairview defeated Rock Hill, 3-1. Sabrina Grant had 10 kills in the win. Madison Loving added nine and tallied 11 aces. Zoe Grant finished with seven.

Fairview earned straight set wins over Rose Hill and West Carter in the All “A” before falling in straight sets to Raceland. No stats were reported.

Fairview visits Lawrence County Monday, welcomes Lewis County Wednesday, Boyd Thursday and travels to Sugar Creek Christian Saturday.


ROSE HILL 0-2


Rose Hill opened the season with losses to Lawrence County and Fairview.

Isabella Ratterre collected a pair of kills in the loss to Lawrence. Frankie Pennington had two aces.

Rose Hill welcomes Millard Thursday.


GREENUP COUNTY 2-0


Greenup opened the season with a pair of wins over Lawrence County, both in straight sets. Hailey Dillow had 12 kills and Peyton Powell added 11 in the first meeting. Kaylee Braden and Lucy Roy added six each.

Greenup welcomes Ashland Monday, visits Green Tuesday and welcomes Fleming Thursday.


RACELAND 2-0


Raceland opened the season with a pair of straight set wins over Morgan County and Fairview to claim the 16th Region All “A” Championship. No stats were reported in the wins.

Raceland visits East Carter Monday, Russell Thursday and meets Johnson Central and Leslie County in the Ashland Invitational Saturday.


RUSSELL 2-1


Russell opened the season with wins over Great Crossing and Corbin, both 2-1 while falling to Henry Clay, 2-1. No stats were reported.

Russell welcomes East Carter Tuesday, Raceland Thursday and meets Wolfe County and Shelby Valley Saturday in the Ashland Invitational.
