ASHLAND 24-3

 

Ashland won in straight sets over Boyd and Raceland this week.

 

Elise Marcum had 14 kills in the win over Boyd. Miley Murphy and Olivia Wiley added nine kills. Sydney Mertz added four aces.

 

Ashland is idle this week.

 

BOYD COUNTY 7-6

 

Boyd went 1-1 this week with a win over Martin County and a loss to Ashland.

 

Sophia Clark led the Lions with six kills in the loss to Ashland. Adria Queen had four blocks and Hallie Barnett added three.

 

Boyd bounced back with a senior night win over Martin County in straight sets led by Barnett’s 10 kills and three blocks. Lilah Thornbury added seven kills. Payton Jones had four aces.

 

Boyd visits Russell Monday, plays Parkersburg South and Huntington at Huntington High Tuesday and welcomes Raceland Thursday.

 

FAIRVIEW 10-12

 

Fairview went 1-2 this week with a win over Rose Hill and losses to Russell and West Carter.

 

Madison Loving fired down 14 kills in the win over Rose Hill. Karly Caldwell had five aces.

 

Loving had six kills to lead the Eagles in the loss to Russell and finished with 13 kills in the loss to West Carter.

 

Fairview welcomes Rowan County Wednesday, visits Bath County Thursday and welcomes Sugar Creek Christian Saturday.

 

ROSE HILL 1-16

 

Rose Hill fell to Fairview, West Carter and Raceland this week. Harper Greene had four digs against Fairview and Rebekah Morrison three.

 

Rose Hill welcomes Sugar Creek Christian Tuesday.

 

GREENUP COUNTY 15-7

 

Greenup went 1-2 this week with a win over Fleming and losses to Rowan County and Russell.

 

Greenup fell to Russell, 3-2. Peyton Powell led the way with 15 kills and six blocks. Hailey Dillow finished with 12 kills. Lucy Roy had 11 kills and five blocks.

 

Powell had 12 kills in the loss to Rowan.

 

Powell paced the Musketeers with 16 kills and seven blocks in the win over Fleming. Dillow had seven kills. Roy added six aces.

 

Greenup visits Lewis County Monday and welcomes Raceland Tuesday.

 

RACELAND 10-12

 

Raceland went 3-2 this week with wins over Rose Hill, Paris and Wolfe County and losses to Ashland and Sayre.

 

Allayson Rigsby led the Rams with 10 kills and three blocks in the loss to Ashland.

 

Rigsby had 10 kills in the win over Rose Hill. Abi Worthington added eight.

 

Raceland welcomes Fleming County Monday, visits Greenup Tuesday and Boyd Thursday.

 

RUSSELL 18-5

 

Russell went 3-0 this week with wins over Greenup, Fairview and Rowan County.

 

Russell outlasted Greenup, 3-2 to secure the top seed in the upcoming district tournament. Sydney Sizemore paced the Devils with 15 kills and eight aces. Kennedy Darnell and Brooklyn Sizemore had 11 kills each. Jaycee Hall kicked in eight kills.

 

Hall led the Devils with 14 kills in the win over Fairview. Sizemore had eight.

 

Russell took a 3-2 win over Rowan to close the week. Sydney Sizemore had 19 kills. Hall tallied 14. Brooklyn Sizemore finished with 12 and Darnell fired down 10.

 

Russell welcomes Boyd Monday, visits East Carter Tuesday and welcomes Lewis County Thursday.
